An optimized design method for city-street-lamps collocations

Abstract
A practical method to design the location of city street-lamps is presented based on both a physical model and mathematical simulation. Adopting these optimized location designs, for example a triangular layout, we can effectively cut down electric power consumption while ensuring traffic safety and lighting requirements, or for the same energy consumption supply higher luminance with good uniformity than with traditional symmetric street-lamp arrangements.
