Abstract
Based on network technology and high quality course material a new method for teaching college physics has been built and applied. A multicast protocol for live continuous-media streams is employed so that many students can take the course simultaneously in different classrooms under one teacher's instruction. Out of class, students can review the course with the continuous-media stream courseware on the campus network. So long as teaching quality is guaranteed, the system can expand the scale of lectures as well as optimize and share all teaching resources.
