High pressure effects on the crystal and electronic structures of organic compounds

High pressure effects have attracted considerable attention in various research fields due to significant improvements in the devices for high pressure generation. The pressure can be controllably tuned to approach ultrahigh values, which will enrich research areas by introducing pressure as an important factor to influence the material environment. In this paper a simple and safe method for high pressure generation developed in recent years and its application in studying the photophysical properties of organic compounds are reviewed.
