  • High resolution imaging with adaptive optics for large aperture telescopes is one of the most important techniques for astronomy and space object observation. The historical development of telescopes and adaptive optics is reviewed in this paper. According to the future requirements of large aperture telescopes, a detailed account of the development and current status of high spatial resolution liquid crystal adaptive optics will be presented.
