Experimental tests of the equivalence principle in space

  • The equivalence principle has been tested on ground at the level of 10-13. To improve the precision, some missions to test the equivalence principle in space have been proposed, which aim to search for new interactions or to test theories of gravitation. The principle of the tests in space, their past development and the status of recently proposed missions are summarized. Future prospects are reviewed.
