  • A brief review is presented of the development of molecular electronic devices, the next-generation devices after silicon CMOS. We describe the basic principles, the elucidation of discrepancies between theoretical and experimental results, the underlying quantum mechanics phenomena, and recent theoretical and experimental advances in the area of molecular transistors.
