New developments and applications of quasi-phase-matched material

Quasi-phase-matched crystals(optical superlattices) are a type of artificial nonlinear optical material which has recently attracted much attention on account of its wide application in nonlinear frequency conversion such as second-harmonic generation, third-harmonic generation and optical parametric oscillation. A review is presented of the theory of quasi-phase-metching and the main achievements in this field.
