Heisenberg and China's physics community

Abstract
In 1929 the famous physicist Heisenberg visited China, where he was made an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica. He was the first foreign scholar to receive this honor in China's modern history of physics. In this article, the specific date that he came to China is deduced, and his relationships with certain members of China's early physics community are reviewed.
