Ionization of molecules irradiated by an intense femtosecond laser field

  • This article is intended to review the recent scientific achievements in high pressure research using the large-volume press (LVP) and synchrotron radiation. Selected major scientific achievements are highlighted along with important technical breakthroughs. The development of large-volume high pressure research may be at the verge of exploding to megabar (1 megabar = 100 GPa)pressure range on millimeter sized samples. Prospects of future LVP developments are discussed.
