Abstract
Many unsolvable problems can be tackled when synchrotron radiation X-rays are applied with their superior advantages of high flux, high collimation, good polarization and tunable wavelength. We present an overview of our synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction facility and its application in macromolecular crystallography. We also review the progress in solving the phase problem of protein crystals. Finally, we give a short description of the construction of the X-ray diffraction and scattering beamline and station, as part of our laboratory′s Phase Ⅱ project.
