Abstract
Half-metal magnetic materials are a new kind of spintronics material with a special energy band structure. They exhibit the metallic behavior of majority-spin electrons and the insulating behavior of minority-spin electrons, and are thus attracting more and more attention in recent years. In this paper, the space structure and relevant physical properties of Half-Heusler structure half-metallic ferromagnetic materials, CrO2 ferromagnetic half metal, Fe3O4 sub-ferromagnetic half metal, anti-ferromagnetic half metals, and perovskite and double perovskite half metals are reviewed. The principle and prospects for their applications are also analyzed.
