Latest progress in acoustic levitation

A parametric model incorporating the boundary element method is presented for optimizing the design of single-axis acoustic levitation,which can produce stable levitation of materials as heavy as tungsten (density 18\^9g/cm\+3). The containerless processing of non-metallic materials and low melting-temperature metals is investigated.
