From two-dimensional materials to van der Waals heterostructures

The rapid development of two-dimensional material research in the last thirteen years has led to the emergence of a wealth of new materials and technologies. We will review the history of the development of two-dimensional materials, then describe some typical examples as well as van der Waals heterostructures based on these materials.
