Progress in laser manipulating single neutral atoms

  • In this paper the research progress in laser manipulation of single neutral atoms is reviewed. The latest results obtained in my group are reported on laser trapping and cooling of single atoms, coherent transfer of single atom qubits, single atom matter-wave interferometer, and controlled collision of two heteronuclear atoms. Perspective on future development of the field is presented.
